Recently, on the identified list published by Yunnan Provincial Continuing Medical Education Committee, 127 provincial continuing medical education bases were approved. Among the list, 6 provincial continuing medical education bases are from our hospital.

About 6 provincial continuing medical education bases, 5 of them are in western medicine category, 1 is in traditional Chinese medicine category. Those 5 western medicine bases are: surgical oncology continuing medical education training base which is under the charge of President Yunchao Huang, medical oncology continuing medical education training base which is leaded by vice-president Jian Dong, radiation oncology continuing medical education training base which is under the charge of vice-president Wenhui Li, gynaecology continuing medical education training base which is under the charge of gynaecology department director Hongying Yang, oncological nursing continuing medical education training base which is under the charge of director of nursing department Qiongyao Guan. While traditional Chinese medicine base - integrated traditional and western medicine oncology is leaded by director Hongmei Sheng from integrated traditional and western medicine oncology department.

Since Yunnan Cancer Hospital was approved as Yunnan provincial continuing medical education training base - oncology continuing medical education training base in 2002 for the first time. Under the leadership of party and administrative leaders of the hospital, Yunnan Cancer Hospital focuses on meeting the demand of health care reform and development in our province, continuously strengthening organization and system construction of continuing medical education management, further improving the form and content of continuing medical education. The hospital actively conducts the academic symposium and classes, invites international and domestic well-known experts to give lectures and encourages students to participate in the discussion; we’ve held a large scale of suitable and effective continuing medical education activities. Yunnan Cancer Hospital plays a positive role in comprehensively upgrading occupational qualities and service capability of medical workers from various levels and various regions.

Presently, since the 6 provincial continuing medical education bases of Yunnan Cancer Hospital received construction approval, the hospital will stick to the frontier of medical science and technology, with our achievements in oncology continuing medical education training base, further establish and perfect the base regulatory organization, actively carry out medical education theory research, develop specific and pragmatic training programs and training courses, extend and promote network training and distance education, so as to realize the institutionalization, standardization of management and modernization of methods. And build an education and training platform for medical professional and technical personnel; provide a better continuing medical education service.
