In recent five years, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University has undertaken more than 217 national and provincial research projects. Among them, 3 of the projects are key projects of national level. And 23 monographs were redacted and the first series of oncology textbooks for undergraduates in China are published by the hospital. Meanwhile, as the only one expert’s group member unit in the 8 provinces of western China, it has carried out the early diagnosis and treatment project - early diagnosis and treatment project on lung cancer, which was subsidized by central government finance. There are 4 key laboratories were approved by the government, includingNational Ministry of Education Internationally Coordinated Laboratory of Plateau Area Regional Highly Prevalent Cancer Research and Yunnan Provincial Key Laboratory of Lung Cancer Research. It is the supporting base for 2 research institutions, 10 cancer research centers, 2 innovation teams, 9 standardized training bases for resident doctors, 7 Yunnan Provincial continuing medical education bases and 1 science and technology platform of public service at province level. The hospital also established Zhan Qimin Academician Workstation, Chenjie Academician Workstation and Post Doctoral Scientific Research Workstation and the national drug clinical trial institution. What’s more, the hospital was granted 1 grand prize for Yunnan province scientific and technological advancement, 3 first prizes, 2 second prizes and 11 third prizes, and the oncology subject was rewarded the brand course of Kunming Medical University.
